Welcome to video two.
Alethophobia. The clinical term is althophobia. The fear or rejection of truth itself. I encountered this word in late 2023. Searching for a single word that could explain results that I feel defied logic, facts, and basic human behavior. When I found it, I found something shipped inside of me. Not relief. Exactly. More like the clarity that comes when you finally have a name for something that had been making you feel disillusioned because that is what sustained injustice does. It makes you feel like you are losing your mind. When you call a DV helpline and are asked what you did to deserve it, the natural response is to wonder whether you are the problem. The word althophobia gave me an answer. It said, "No, you are not crazy. There is a name for what you are experiencing."
